Infrastructure Architect
Proprietary trading firm is seeking an exceptional Infrastructure Architect to focus on designing, developing, and maintaining systems to support traders. Responsibilities involve building infrastructure, responding to problems, short and long term project work, and continually driving improvements in performance.
Experience supporting applications in a high frequency, low latency environment is a must. Prior experience with proprietary trading firms and exchanges is desired.
Responsibilities:
-Work with the team to drive the design and deployment of new installations of trading systems at exchange co-locations.
-Design and implement high performance, low latency WAN infrastructure.
-Employ innovative thought and automation to improve productivity, workflow, and technology deployment.
-Identify and evaluate new technology.
-Troubleshoot infrastructure and application performance issues.
-Find and improve performance bottlenecks.
-Work closely with other parts of the business to identify areas of high opportunity.
Qualifications:
-Experience supporting applications in a high frequency, low latency environment is a must.
-Expertise with optical WAN technology (SONET, DWDM/CWDM, MPLS).
-Strong experience with a scripting language such as python or perl.
-Strong experience with the Linux operating system.
-Ability to travel for training and as needed
-C/C++, SQL a plus.
-Experience automating processes to improve performance.
-Deep understanding of IP networking: Switching, Routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), Multicast (IGMP, PIM).
-Expertise with high-performance LAN technology (10 G ethernet, product architecture).
-Performance analysis and troubleshooting: Packet capture and analysis, Tapping and spanning.
-Deep understanding of the TCP/IP protocol.
-Able and willing to do critical strategy work all the way through hands on implementation.
-Eager to work in a collaborative, team environment.
-Detail oriented, analytical mindset, highly effective at decision making.
-Ability to manage numerous business priorities with ease.
-Trading Industry experience a plus.
